And so Leicester Sing for water 2022 is done! And what a great day we had! Well done everyone!

The Leicester Sing for Water 2022 looked set to be a very wet one, but the rain held off, and the singers and drummers had a lot of fun. We had expected there to be a smaller crowd than in previous years because we knew that there were lots of Jubilee street parties planned over the weekend of the Riverside Festival. And as it happened, the weather forecast discouraged some people who might have come to the festival too. But those who did come really enjoyed the drumming and the singing and they were very generous – we collected £282.03 in donations on the day!

And as I write, the JustGiving account stands at £725. Adding these two amounts to the cheque and sponsor form brought in by one of the singers from Red Leicester Choir, amounting to £223, and another £40 raised by members of Red Leicester Choir, the current fundraising total stands at £1,270.03.

In previous years it has taken singers and drummers some weeks to collect in and deposit their sponsorship monies, and we anticipate that this figure will grow.

Thank you again to all who took part and made an effort to raise funds for WaterAid and change people’s lives.
