Concert
Leicester Sing for Water 2023 will take place on Sunday June 4th at 2pm in Bede Park, Leicester.
Rehearsals
Rehearsal will be in the DMU Queen’s Building.
The organisers are going to meet at the stage which is at the junction of Western Boulevard and Mill Lane at 9.45am so that the stage manager can go over the stage directions with us. ALL SINGERS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US THERE. We will then walk 200 metres to the DMU Queens Building which is on Mill Lane. Western Boulevard will be closed to traffic for the festival. The rehearsal room is on the ground floor – in the foyer of the building, so it will be easy to find. We will have refreshments available on arrival and start the warm up and rehearsal at 10.50. If you can, please bring your own travel mug.
Directions to the DMU Car Park
The postcode for the car park is LE2 7DP.
Please bring the car park voucher (see attachment below) and leave it on show to entitle you to free parking at the De Montfort University (DMU) Car Park. If you can’t print one, we can give you a voucher to put in your car when you arrive.
From Upperton Road: at the Liberty roundabout over the canal (with a replica Statue of Liberty) take 3rd exit to fork left into Jarrom Street. Turn down the fourth street on the left, Gateway Street, the De Montfort University Staff Car Park is on your left.
From Oxford Street: turn left and go down Jarrom Street, take the second turning of the right, Gateway Street, turn left into the De Montfort University Staff Car Park, Or from Oxford Street, turn left down Grange Lane, immediately turn left down down Deacon Street, turn right at The Gateway, the De Montfort University Staff Car Park is on your left.
NB Western Boulevard will be closed to vehicles for the festival.
Arriving by Bicycle
There is a covered cycle rack in The Gateway close to the entrance to the DMU car park.
Arriving by Train
It is a 20 minute walk from Leicester Railway station.
