Raising Money for WaterAid
Leicester Sing for Water is an annual event taking place at Leicester’s Riverside Festival. It brings together choirs, singers and volunteers from far and wide. It first took place in 2008 and over the years has raised well over £50,000 to help fund WaterAid projects all around the world.
There are still far too many children dying of waterborne diseases and far too many people living without access to clean water, sanitation, or health education. So let’s get going – inviting along friends and family, raising money, practising songs if you want to join in, and making it a great event at the Riverside Festival on June 4th 2023. We can change the lives of people in Malawi through the WaterAid projects there!
It’s hoped that each singer raises a donation for WaterAid. A goal of £30 per singer would be wonderful, but whatever you manage to raise will be appreciated. You can collect donations from friends and family through sponsorship or other form of fundraising. In previous years, some choirs have made a communal effort and baked, sold bric-a-brac and plants or held raffles.
Most of the money raised in the past has come through sponsorship of the singers and we will also collect donations from the audience on the day.
You can find out more about how to send in the results of your fundraising on the Money Matters Page.
Many thanks for all your vital help,
