Directions to the car park

From the M1 junction with M69, follow along A5460 Narborough Road past many shops and passing under a railway bridge. Turn right at traffic lights at the next major junction on to Upperton Road. At the roundabout over the canal fork left into Jarrom Street. Turn left into Gateway Street. Turn left into the De Montfort University Car Park.
Other routes: coming from Leicester city centre, find the A594 Welford Road heading south away from the centre. Follow M1 signs taking a right turn into Almond Road, go right again heading north on Aylestone Road, which passes The Leicester Royal Infirmary on the left and becomes Oxford Street. Take the second left into Bonners Lane at traffic lights, then second left into Gateway Street and right into the De Montfort University free Car Park.
The car park at DeMontfort University will be open from 8am until 8pm on Sunday 10 June 2012. ‘Sing for Water Parking’ signs will be put up near the car park. You will need a permit to show to the stewards in the car park. Permits are included in the pack sent to singers. If you do not have your own personal singers’ pack, please download a permit here.
NB Western Boulevard (shaded on the map outline, which is also included in Leicester Sing for Water packs) will be closed to vehicles for the festival
It will be a 5 minute walk from the car park to Bede Park (the performance venue) and 5 minutes more to the Church of the Martyrs on Westcotes Drive for registration and the rehearsal. Most toilets are in the Church of the Martyrs church hall, next door but one to the church, up Westcotes Drive.
Walking from De Montfort University Car Park to Church of the Martyrs
Look out for temporary Leicester Sing for Water signs to help you find your way (marked as a line of dashes on the pack map)
With your back to the De Montfort University Car Park entrance, go to the far right hand corner of the Car Park. Turn right along the path between Queens Building and the backs of the houses in Grasmere Street on to Mill Lane.
When you reach Mill Lane turn left and walk down Mill Lane passing Nat’s Off-Licence on your left. *Keep walking in a more or less straight line, cross over the river on the bridge. At the traffic lights on Western Boulevard (closed to traffic for the festival) walk straight ahead into Bede Park. Tesco Express is on your right and we shall be performing around the stage outside Tesco. Walk through Bede Park to the far end and walk over the footbridge. There is a pub on your right, keep going straight ahead. Walk up Briton Street. Cross the main Narborough Road at the traffic lights and walk on straight, up Westcotes Drive. After about 100 metres Church of the Martyrs is on your right, with most toilets in its church hall, two doors further on.
